The Oviedo Winter Springs Regional Chamber of Commerce and Oviedo City Church annually award a $2,000 scholarship to a deserving high school senior. Thank you to Oviedo City Church for serving as the sponsor for our scholarship.

American Brother Foundation Scholarship Program Given in honor of USMC Sgt. Mecot Camara

The goal of the scholarship program offered by the American Brother Foundation is to offer support to those that have given so much for our country. In 2024, we are giving four(4) $1000 scholarships to our active duty military personnel, veterans, and/or their families, including our Gold Star families, to assist in their educational goals. Through the support of our donors, we can “Give Back” to those that have sacrificed for our great nation.

Who is Eligible?

The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) is made up of 26 inter/national sororities and is the largest advocacy and support organization for the women’s-only sorority experience. Beginning with women graduating high school in 2023, NPC plans to award 10 college scholarships of US$2,000 each annually through our new NPC Centennial Scholarships Program.

NPC has a long history of advocating to make the cost of a higher education more affordable to more women. These new NPC Centennial Scholarships are one more step we are taking to improve college affordability. 

The scholarships are named for the NPC Foundation’s Centennial Fund, which is providing funding for the new scholarship program.

The NPC Centennial Scholarships online application form is available now through March 15, 2023. Recipients will be announced in May 2023. 

$2,500 Scholarship to an incoming college Freshman entering into an architecture or associated design profession bachelor's degree program in Florida.

Students who have accepted an offer of admission to a Florida University for the first year of college and pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture or associated design program for the Fall 2023 semester may apply.

Our goal is to recognize motivated students who are passionate community leaders in the arts and sciences.

The Jan La Belle Scholarship Program was established in 2009 to provide a financial resource to individuals with disabilities who desire to pursue their personal and career goals through attendance at a post-secondary institution.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS MUST MEET ALL OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
• Applicant must be an individual with a disability.
• Applicant must be a Florida resident.
• Applicant must be an individual 16 to 24 years of age who is entering as a first-time student at any institution of higher learning, whether academic or vocational.

The scholarship is designed to identify and reward outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated an ability to excel in the fields of academics, extra-curricular school activities, and community involvement. The scholarship is available to any male, graduating senior from an accredited high school who is enrolling in a four-year undergraduate college program that commences in the fall. The scholarship is awarded through the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence, a registered 501(c)3 organization. Current or future membership in a fraternity is not required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be a graduating high school senior in the United States
• Must identify as male

In an effort to expand our message of drunk driving prevention, we are happy to offer our $3,000 Drunk Driving Prevention Scholarship to an individual who is currently attending, or has been accepted for enrollment, at any accredited two or four year U.S. college or university. Columbus Citizens Foundation, based in New York City, is dedicated to the celebration of Italian culture and Italian American heritage. Since 1984, CCF has provided scholarships to deserving Italian American students to assure their academic dreams are fulfilled. Each year, the Foundation offers a range of competitive scholarships. Please note that most CCF Scholarships are for four years and require the applicant to be entering 9th Grade or to be a College Freshman during the first year of the Scholarship. A PROGRAM FOR SENIOR CLASS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN LIONS DISTRICT 35-O.

This Scholarship was created by the Lions Clubs of District 35-0 to establish a suitable Memorial to commemorate the untimely death of Paivi Harittu, from Paimio, Finland. Miss Harittu, a Youth Exchange student traveling under the auspices of Lions Clubs International Youth Exchange Program, lost her life in a tragic automobile accident in Orlando on the evening of July 4, 1983. Scholarships are for $1,000. They will be presented to outstanding students and may be used for educational purposes or other educational travel.

Eligible applicants must live or attend high school in the greater Maitland community (Maitland and surrounding communities), graduating from an accredited high school, and begin a post-high school program of education in the 2023-2024 academic year.

We are a non-profit organization that seeks to financially empower young women of color by helping them make better financial decisions starting with college. We help them to apply for college scholarships, teach financial literacy, and professional development skills. 

DO I QUALIFY?

• Must be current High School Junior/High School Graduation Class of 2025

• Attend a Public School or Parochial School

• Identify as a Female Student of color (African-American, Asian-American, Latino, or Native American)

Our Clark Law Group Scholarship provides a $1,000 award each semester to a student whose parent is actively serving or previously served in the United States military. We are honored to support families of military service members.

The Underdog Scholarships awarded are between $2,500-$5,000 and are offered during the Spring and Fall semesters. The Friends of the Firm Scholarships are typically $1,000-$2,500. Our scholarships are available to undergraduate students throughout the United States, and the awards can be applied to tuition and other education expenses at the recipients' schools. We are currently accepting applications for Spring 2024.

AED.us strives to increase AED placement and awareness on how to use them. Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is the number one killer in America, and an electric shock delivered from a defibrillator is the only way to resuscitate the victim. Over 350,000 SCA deaths occur each year outside the hospital environment, with 366,807 striking families across our country in 2015 alone.

AED.US’ founders have placed tens of thousands of AEDs since entering the industry in 1999. Through AED Donation Programs, hundreds of AEDs have been placed in areas that need AEDs, but maybe struggle to fund the purchase. In one case, donations of ZOLL AED Plus units made by AED.us’ founders to a Tennessee County produced multiple saves, including a student’s mother and PTA member, and a high school girls basketball coach. These saves were only made possible by the actions of those present. Their awareness and training resulted in quick administration of CPR and the retrieval of the AED, with a subsequent shock.

There are several options to obtain AED/CPR training, including The American Red Cross and The American Heart Association. AED.US can design and schedule custom classes to accommodate any size organization.

AED.us awards one (1) $1,500 scholarship each semester to a qualified student. 

To be eligible for selection, students must submit an application by the appropriate deadline:

Each year, the Marion Huber Learning Through Listening awards are presented to Learning Ally high school senior members with learning disabilities, who plan to continue their education after graduation, in recognition of their academic achievement, outstanding leadership, and service to others.

This scholarship is open to all students who have a deep curiosity in studying the universe for its own sake—whether that be pursuing studies in physics, philosophy, biology, mathematics, literature, or any other field that seeks better understanding of our existence—and will seek to lift up those from underrepresented communities in those fields, and first-generation college students.

The Norm Brodsky Business Concept Competition is designed to recognize and promote exceptional effort, skill, and creativity among high school students. The winner of the senior pitch competition receives a four-year, full tuition scholarship to Rider University.

The Almond Family Character Scholarship was established in 2007 to recognize Lyman students who have demonstrated good character…students who put service to others above service to self. This scholarship recognizes one Lyman High School student annually ($500). Applicants are judged on citizenship and academic effort. This award is to be used to assist the student with his/her college expenses.

Since 2013, The National Space Club and Foundation has offered the opportunity for a student to give the keynote address at the National Space Club and Foundation's annual Goddard Memorial Dinner, one of the space industry's most prestigious gatherings. The student must intend to pursue a career in the Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) fields, be academically strong and excel in public speaking.

In addition to speaking at the Goddard Memorial Dinner, the individual selected will also receive a scholarship, in the amount of $15,000. This scholarship is awarded to a U.S. citizen, and is open to seniors in High School through graduate students studying at an accredited educational institution in the United States, who has definite plans to pursue a career in the STEM fields.

Who can enter the Regeneron Science Talent Search (Regeneron STS)?

-Any student who is living in and attending their last year of secondary school in the US and its territories may apply, regardless of citizenship.

-Students who are US citizens living abroad may also qualify.

-Students attending American schools abroad, but who are not US citizens, are not eligible. Please read the Regeneron STS Rules and Entry Instructions document for more information.

The Rotary Club of Seminole County Sunset (RCSCS) is proud to announce its
7th Annual scholarship award. These Scholarships are privately funded and
awarded by the RCSCS.

Since 1973, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has awarded more than $162 million in scholarships to more than 93,000 Team Members. To be eligible for a scholarship or educational assistance, applicants must be employed by a Chick-fil-A franchise Operator, a Chick-fil-A, Inc.-operated restaurant, or an S. Truett Cathy (STC) brand restaurant. Chick-fil-A restaurant Operators nominate their Team Members to receive scholarships, which can be applied to any area of study at any accredited institution.

There are three ways Chick-fil-A Team Members can receive educational assistance through the Chick-fil-A scholarship initiative:

1. $25,000 Scholarship: This year, 12 Restaurant Team Members received an individual, one-time $25,000 True Inspiration Scholarship, amounting to $300,000. About the Awards

The crisis in children’s mental health takes many forms. Stigma. Barriers to care. Slow progress on the science we need to develop new treatments. 

Investing in the scientific leaders of tomorrow will accelerate discovery and transform children’s lives. 

The Rising Scientist Awards, presented in partnership with Hunter College, are given annually to outstanding high school students who show exceptional promise in research areas related to mental health. Awards are presented at our annual On the Shoulders of Giants scientific symposium on October 4, 2022. The Child Mind Institute invites high school educators to nominate candidates entering their senior year in the Fall of 2022 for this honor.

To be selected for the Rising Scientist Awards a student must demonstrate:

• Outstanding interest and achievement in psychology, neuroscience or biomedical engineering research
• Strong academic performance in science courses
• Participation in related extracurricular activities
• Scientific research studies or independent research in one of the three areas of focus

Each Rising Scientist will receive:

• A $2,000 scholarship for college expenses
• An opportunity to share his or her research at the Child Mind Institute’s annual On the Shoulders of Giants Scientific Symposium, attended by world-class scientists (to be held virtually on October 4, 2022)
• Recognition at an awards ceremony following the symposium, which is attended by VIP guests, including the Child Mind Institute’s Sarah Gund Distinguished Scientist. The 2022 Distinguished Scientist Awardee is Margaret McCarthy, PhD, Chair, Department of Pharmacology; Director for the Program in Neuroscience (PIN) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. 
• Invitations to attend a special educational event with representatives from the Child Mind Institute’s research programs and to shadow a Child Mind Institute researcher for a day.

The SCW Conrad Carpio Education Scholarship was named in honor of Conrad Carpio, the father of Firm Partner Alex Carpio. Conrad was born in Cananea, Sonora Mexico. He came to the United States in 1970 and became a Legal Permanent Resident in 1986 through Amnesty. He is the father of 5 children. Conrad has been a roofer with Ralph Hays Rooming since 1975. After 44 years of roofing he retired, but after three months of retirement he decided retirement was not for him and he is still working with Ralph Hays Roofing to this day. Like many of the firm’s injured worker clients, Conrad is an immigrant who came to the United States for a better life. He worked hard to provide a better future for his family. Give Kids A Chance is offering scholarship grants in the amount of $1,250 to high school seniors planning to attend college. To be eligible for a scholarship, you must have the following criteria:

To help fund the cost of tuition to launch a career as an aviation maintenance technician, Aviation Institute of Maintenance’s (AIM) 14 campuses within the United States are administering a limited number of Aviation Ambassador Scholarships for students who graduate in 2022 from a high school program with coursework in aviation and who begin the Aviation Maintenance Technician program in Fall 2022 at an AIM campus.  

OFA/AIA Orlando accepts applications for five academic scholarships awarded annually to students enrolled in the 2+2+2 Program at Valencia College, the University of Central Florida, and the University of Florida CityLab-Orlando. University of Florida students enrolled in the Bachelor of Design in Architecture program attending CityLab-Orlando in the Fall of 2023 are also invited to apply. Scholarships are funded by proceeds from the AIA Orlando Golf Tournament for Scholarships and other donations. As a first-generation student, navigating the college process can be difficult, especially when trying to determine how to pay for one’s education. To support students whose future goals are to serve their community, True Health will offer four (4) first-generation college students a one-thousand-dollar ($1,000) scholarship to support their academic goals. The Path to True Success Scholarship is open to all high school seniors and undergraduate students who are planning to pursue or who are currently pursuing a degree and career in the public service field.

While there are many individuals working in public health, True Health’s intent is to ensure individuals are aware of the value of Federally Qualified Health Centers and similar safety net resources within communities that face socio-economic barriers. *Additional funding support will be solicited from external donors which may increase the scholarship award amount for each recipient.

The LPGA Foundation administers several scholarship programs for young women who enjoy the game of golf and plan to attend college in the fall. Qualifications for all scholarships include strong academic programs, community service, and recommendations. 

The Marilynn Smith Scholarship is granted annually through The LPGA Foundation and the Marilynn Smith Scholarship Fund. Established in 1999 by Marilynn with the proceeds of a golf tournament she organized, the objective of the Marilynn Smith Scholarship is to provide a scholarship to a female high school senior who has played golf in high school or in her community and has signed a letter of intent play golf at an accredited college or university in the United States.

The Marilynn Smith Scholarship will be awarded to high school seniors who will be playing golf at the collegiate level. Multiple $5,000 scholarships will be awarded in 2025.

Traven Watase started the first PB&J Scholarship back in 2013 when he graduated from Governor Wallace Rider Farrington High School. Traven was not a good student when he was in High School and did not have strong family support from his parents. In which he moved from Roosevelt High School (Honolulu, HI) to Kauai High School (Lihue, HI) and finally graduated from Governor Wallace Rider Farrington High School (Honolulu, HI). What he realized is that kids who do not have proper guidance/encountered an unusual challenge, are at a significant disadvantage that not a lot of scholarships recognize. Most scholarships you see are merit-based, financial need, or ethnicity. But students who encountered challenges in their lives may not be able to achieve merit-based benchmarks, might be in the middle ground of financial need, and not qualify for ethnicity-based scholarships. So because of this, Traven decided to eat PB&J Sandwiches to save money on his budget so that he could pay forward a scholarship while he was in his first year of college himself. Traven did not start the scholarship because he had a lot of money, but he was willing to sacrifice a little and give what he could to help out someone going through similar challenges that he went through.

Our philosophy back when we first started was not to create barriers from students applying (GPA, Ethnicity etc…) because we will only judge the student by hearing their story and not disregard them before hearing it. Our scholarship is open to:

The RADM Helena O. Mishoe Diversity “Believe” Scholarship for high school seniors was established to encourage and help to support the career dreams of high school seniors from populations burdened by health disparities and that have been shown to be underrepresented in the health sciences and research, or health-related disciplines. These include populations such as racial and ethnic minority groups, rural populations, populations with low socioeconomic status, first generation college students, and individuals with disabilities. The scholarship will help students to realize their dream of obtaining a college education in the health sciences or a health-related field to promote health equity in the United States.

The program is named after Helena O. Mishoe, PhD, MPH, retired Rear Admiral of the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service. Her extraordinary public service and scientist career spanned over three decades at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and encompassed 27 years on active duty in the USPHS Commissioned Corps.

n 2007, OAR introduced the Schwallie Family Scholarship to support the post-secondary, undergraduate education of qualified individuals with an autism spectrum diagnosis. Schwallie Family Scholarships are supported through generous gifts from the family of the late Ed Schwallie, one of OAR’s founders and its only Board member Emeritus.

In 2013, we added the Lisa Higgins Hussman Scholarship, the first expansion of the OAR Scholarship Program, to further benefit students attending two-year degree programs, as well as any of the growing number of certificate and life skills/transition programs in the U.S. Board member and Scholarship Committee chairwoman, Lisa Hussman, championed the initiative, which is supported annually through gifts from the Lisa Higgins Hussman Foundation.

The Synchrony Scholarship for Autistic Students of Color, the newest scholarship, began in December 2021, with the opening of the 2022 Scholarship application period. It was established through a partnership with Synchrony’s Disabilities Diversity Network as part of their national “Education as an Equalizer” initiative.

As of today, the OAR Scholarship Program has awarded a total of $1,331,000 to 440 highly deserving students.

This Scholarship was created by the Lions Clubs of District 35 0 to establish a suitable Memorial to commemorate the untimely death of Paivi Harittu, from Paimio, Finland. Miss Harittu, a Youth Exchange student traveling under the auspices of Lions Clubs International Youth Exchange Program, lost her life in a tragic automobile accident in Orlando on the evening of July 4, 1983. Scholarships are for $1,000. They will be presented to outstanding students and may be used for educational purposes or other educational travel.

The United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP), established in 1962 by U.S. Senate Resolution, is a unique educational experience for outstanding high school students. The U.S. Senate Youth Program mission is to encourage the best and brightest students in America's high schools to pursue careers in public service.

Each year, two outstanding student leaders from each state spend a week in Washington, D.C., experiencing their national government in action. In addition, each delegate will be awarded a $10,000 college scholarship for undergraduate studies with encouragement to pursue coursework in history and political science.

The Florida Department of Education invites eligible high school juniors and seniors to apply for the 2021-2022 U.S. Senate Youth Program scholarship. Florida high school juniors and seniors may qualify to apply based on leadership positions they currently hold per the USSYP official criteria.

The Black American Engineering Scholarship Award provides opportunities to underrepresented students in the field of engineering through scholarship funds and mentorship.

The Kantner Foundation Scholarship is a $2,000 to $3,000 one-time college scholarship awarded to outstanding high school students. Graduating high school seniors attending public or private schools, or who are being homeschooled, and who are full-time residents of Florida are eligible to apply.

Recipients of the Kantner Foundation Scholarship have a record of academic achievement, leadership, and entrepreneurship. The board of trustees of the Kantner Foundation reviews all scholarship applications. Only complete, submitted applications are reviewed and considered. Equitable Foundation has established the Equitable Excellence Scholarship® Program program to assist high school seniors and current undergraduates who are planning to continue their education at a two- or four-year college in the United States by Fall 2025.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. In compliance with Federal law, this program will not discriminate in the terms, conditions, or privileges of participation on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, or sexual orientation.

The AAPT Board of Directors offers scholarships for future high school physics teachers. These scholarships, supported by an endowment funded by Barbara Lotze, are available only to U.S. citizens attending U.S. schools.

Undergraduate students enrolled, or planning to enroll, in physics teacher preparation curricula and high school seniors entering such programs are eligible. Successful applicants receive a stipend of up to $2,000 and a complimentary AAPT Student Membership for one year. The scholarship may be granted to an individual for each of four years.

Since 2013, The National Space Club and Foundation has offered the opportunity for a student to give the keynote address at the National Space Club and Foundation's annual Goddard Memorial Dinner, one of the space industry's most prestigious gatherings. The student must intend to pursue a career in the Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) fields, be academically strong and excel in public speaking.

In addition to speaking at the Goddard Memorial Dinner, the individual selected will also receive a scholarship, in the amount of $15,000. Certified Aviation Program Scholarship

This scholarship, in the amount of $2500, is available to a graduating senior enrolled in SCPS who has been accepted to attend a program that will award an FAA recognized certificate.

In May of 2019, the HIV/AIDS world lost its most promising poet, advocate, author, singer and young person living with AIDS, Mary Bowman. Mary was 30 years old. Born with HIV, she lived out her experiences of growing up and living with HIV (and losing a mother to AIDS) through her art. As a young, out woman of color, she was a dynamic, vital voice for the next generation of individuals living with HIV—proud, willing to speak of her own challenges with not just her own health needs (mental health, social support) —but also a fierce advocate for other young people with HIV for whom a voice was lacking. For Mary, the arts gave her the platform and voice to channel her creative energy, her passion, her truth.

To honor Mary’s legacy and support other accomplished young artivists like her, ViiV Healthcare and the National AIDS Memorial have partnered to create the Mary Bowman Arts in Activism Award. This $5,000 award is intended to support one young artivist (27 years of age or younger) each year who exemplifies Mary’s passion for the arts as the vehicle for their own HIV/AIDS community activism and expression. In general, artivism harnesses the critical imagination to design events and strategies that provoke new questions and new meaning in pursuit of more respectful ways of being. As an example, with respect to HIV/AIDS, such artistic statements are frequently borne from a variety of perspectives in terms of gender, sexuality, age, class, ethnicity, and nationality, and wield artistic expression as a tool for combating stigma. PEDRO’S LEGACY When Pedro Zamora began his journey on The Real World San Francisco in 1994, he had already been an active HIV/AIDS advocate and educator. At the age of 17, Pedro learned that he was a young man living with HIV and dedicated his life to raising awareness and educating his peers on what they needed to avoid infection. At the age of 22, Zamora captivated the nation with his openness, compassion, vitality, and charisma when he appeared on MTV’s The Real World 3: San Francisco in 1994 and spoke openly about his sexuality, status, and activism. Pedro’s work was tragically cut short when he died of an AIDS-related illness in 1994, the morning after the final episode of The Real World aired.

The purpose of the Robert and Joanne Koch Scholarship for Architecture is to provide financial assistance to an exceptional student who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in architecture at an accredited college within Central Florida.

The Robert and Joanne Koch Scholarship for Architecture will provide one (1) scholarship to a graduating high school senior in the amount of $1,000, payable in one (1) installment. Students must be a graduating senior from one of the following three Central Florida counties: Orange, Osceola, or Seminole. The scholarship will be awarded based on merit. The purpose of the Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps (AFROTC) High School Scholarship Program (HSSP) is to provide an incentive to attract, recruit, and retain a diverse, intellectual, and leadership-focused talent pool of high school seniors and high school graduates with no full-time college experience.

TYPE 1 Scholarship - Pays full (100 percent) college tuition and authorized fees at any public or private institution with an Air Force ROTC detachment. Type 1 selectees will also receive a monthly living expense stipend and an annual book stipend.

Note: AFROTC Scholarships do not cover room and board.

This scholarship is dedicated to Cecil A. Tucker, II. Cecil was an agricultural researcher, rancher, historian, author, businessman and philanthropist of both time and resources. Cecil had a long, successful career in agriculture having served as a Seminole County Agricultural Extension Agent, where he developed educational programs for farmers as well as youth, Cecil was a leader in the agriculture community, having served as President of Seminole County Farm Bureau for a number of years. This scholarship strives to honor his memory by helping to support future agricultural leaders. 

This scholarship strives to award up to four, $1,000 scholarships to graduating High School Seniors or current college students who are interested in continuing their education to prepare for a career in some way connected to the diverse agricultural industry. 

Applications must be received by the deadline of April 30, 2025. Applicant must be a high school senior in Seminole County, Florida; or a current college student that is a resident of Seminole County, Florida.  Applicant must be a member of Florida Farm Bureau, or have a family member who is a member of Florida Farm Bureau. Membership cost is only $41.

TheDream.US scholarships are for highly motivated undocumented students who want to get a college education but are unable to afford the cost. They have no no access to federal aid, limited access to state aid, and they sometimes face paying out-of-state tuition. We offer two scholarships.

Applications are open to immigrant students with or without DACA or TPS who came to the U.S. before the age of 16 and before Nov. 1, 2017. and qualify for in-state tuition at one of our Partner Colleges to receive this scholarship. We also offer an online college option. The Scholarship is for up to $16,500 for an associate’s degree and $33,000 for a bachelor’s degree.

Some Scholars may receive an additional stipend for books, supplies, and transportation for up to $6,000. While we consider your GPA, we place great emphasis on your dedication to community service and your commitment to academic and career success despite the barriers and challenges that undocumented students face daily. The award follows students through the completion of a bachelor’s degree and is renewable each year – Recipients must meet the continuing eligibility criteria and renew the award each summer.

On Tuesday, Saint Leo University announced our new Dare to Roar Scholarship Program. This National Science Foundation’s (NSF) S-STEM program was created to improve the retention and degree completion rates of groups that have historically been underrepresented in STEM attending Seminole State College (SSC).  The goal of this scholarship is to provide full academic and advising support towards the successful completion of an AA degree in 2 years. The Leaps and Bounds Scholarship will be a “full-ride” scholarship that will cover tuition and textbook costs for 2 years, and provide additional financial support.   There is an early review deadline of March 31, 2021, and the final general deadline is May 31, 2021.

As the inaugural initiative of the Lead with Languages Scholarship Fund, this award provides merit-based scholarships to graduating high school seniors committed to pursuing the language teaching profession in languages other than English.

The program provides recipients with an award of $1,500 per academic year. Scholarships may be renewed three times following the initial award, for a cumulative total of $6,000 per recipient.

The “Be Moore, Do Moore” scholarship was founded in 2022 to highlight high school seniors who are making an impact both at their school and in their community. 
The scholarship is in honor of the late Ronald D. Moore, Sr who was tragically taken away from the people of his hometown in Sanford, Fl in June of 2015. Affectionately known as “Big Ron,” Moore was a hometown hero. Ron was a resident of the widely known Midway community in Sanford, FL, and had a standout football career at Seminole High School; Moore even went on to play in the National Football League. Afterward, Moore returned home to Sanford to become a defensive line coach and mentor at his alma mater as well as become the league commissioner for the Sanford Pop Warner league. 

Moore is most remembered for his generosity and mentorship both on and off of the field. He would always find a way to make sure that one of his student-athletes or any student in the community was staying on task in the classroom, and  making sure that they would strive to “be more and do more.” He was always a presence and idol in the Sanford, FL community, and to know him was truly an honor and privilege. 

Purpose

To acknowledge outstanding senior students who are seeking to pursue secondary education in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field at an accredited Technical School, College, or University in the State of Florida.

This program is designed to recognize academic achievement & improvement in addition to recognizing those students who have continually strived for excellence at Lyman High School as well as in the community. This scholarship may also consider economic need coupled with other factors to determine an award.

Eligibility

• Be a high school senior at Lyman High School.
• Have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or better for the previous 2 semesters & at least a 2.8 or greater GPA overall.

Potential Scholarship Amount: $2000 total ($1000 for Fall 2021 and $1000 for Spring 2022)

Where: Seminole High School Community Room Per the requirements as set forth by SSC, all tests must be administered in-person on the school’s campus.

Interested students can compete for this scholarship by taking a test created by the Mathematics Department at SSC which covers Algebra, Geometry, and Precalculus. The student attaining the highest score on this test will win a scholarship to Seminole State College upon fulfilling the following requirements:

? The family of the scholarship winner must complete a FAFSA form.

? The student must have at least a 3.0 grade point average at the time of application.

? The student must be a Florida resident. Students who intend to compete must complete the pre-registration form by Tuesday, April 20, 2021 to be considered. 1. Must be a graduating Lyman High School (LHS) Senior enrolled in at least 3 classes on campus

2. Meet GPA requirements (3.0 for four-year college/university; 2.5 for two-year state/community; 2.0 Community/Technical)

3. Must be in good standing with LHS

4. Must be a current PTSA member in the 2022-2023 school year

5. Present a letter of recommendation from one of your teachers or Lyman staff, a completed scholarship application, and an essay following the criteria listed below by the end of B lunch on Friday, March 24th, 2023 to the LHS Student Services Office in a sealed envelope marked “PTSA Scholarship”.

At Trial Pro, P.A. we understand that higher education is imperative for a rewarding future. When considering the financial and social benefits of a college degree, it is easy to see how it can make a vast difference in the life of an undergraduate. We firmly believe in obtaining a valuable education, but we are also aware of the high costs students and their families continuously face.

For this reason, Trial Pro, P.A. will award a $5,000 academic scholarship to one successful and deserving high school or college student. This scholarship will be awarded annually.

To apply, all recipients must review the eligibility criteria and submit the following documents to Trial Pro, P.A. by the specified deadline. Award will be based on individual academic achievement, creativity, and strength of the assigned essays.

In a 700-1000 word essay, describe your experience as a first-generation citizen. Describe your own personal immigration success story as a first-generation immigrant or the child of a first-generation immigrant. Explain the struggles involved and what lessons the experience of being a first-generation immigrant has taught you.

Only students currently enrolled full-time in an American college, Canadian colleges, Automotive Engineering programs, Trade schools, technical institute, or high school seniors planning to attend a college or post-secondary institution are eligible to be awarded a scholarship through this program.

The J-100 AFJROTC Character-in-Leadership Scholarship program (Type 1, HSSP) provides at least 100 cadets a full scholarship with benefits including: 4-years of 100% paid tuition at any university, or crosstown partner, with an AFROTC detachment; a $10,000 per-year allowance for university-owned/on-campus housing; an annual book stipend; and a monthly cadet stipend. There are no specific degree requirements; however, cadets are encouraged to consider technical degrees (i.e., Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, etc.…) to meet the growing demand for these disciplines. Accepting the scholarship will require a cadet to meet all AFROTC requirements and pursue an officer commission.

This scholarship program focuses on character, leadership, and citizenship and it encourages future leaders to seek careers in the US Air Force and Space Force. The J-100 program is open to all eligible cadets and is designed to provide an extraordinary opportunity for our diverse pool of candidates. Unit instructors are highly encouraged to take advantage of this remarkable program.

The Service Scholar program is a four-year, comprehensive, co-curricular program. Service Scholars will complete a minimum of 75 service hours per semester (45 hours for first-semester first-year students) while maintaining a 2.75 GPA, participate in individual and group service projects, attend monthly program meetings, receive and provide peer mentorship, engage in coursework tailored to each year in the program, and promote community participation among their peers. The program includes an annual $4,500 scholarship, which is automatically renewed each year, provided requirements are met. For many Scholars, the program becomes a second family – a supportive community of service-minded student leaders.

The AFJROTC Flight Academy is a scholarship to generate aviation interest among high school studentsand provides pathwaysto aviation careers. The purpose of the Flight Academy is to provide an opportunity for selected cadets to earn their Private Pilot Certification (PPC) while simultaneously increasing an interest in aviation. The program goal is to leverage the diverse Air Force Junior ROTC cadet population, which is 43% female and 57% minority, to help address the predicted need of 6,000 ? 8,000 pilots per year for the next 20 years across industry and the U.S. military.

Cadets will attend private pilot training at public/private universities throughout the U.S. over the summer months for approximately 8 weeks. Student costs are minimal. The $25,000.00 Flight Academy Scholarship covers tuition, room, board, meals, textbooks, air travel, Class I Flight Physical and Flight Training Safety Program (FTSP) fee, if required. Cadet expenses are generally limited.

In honor and memory of Dr. Luis M. Perez 1928 - 1988 The Physicians Society of Central Florida Foundation is proud to offer the 2024 Dr. Luis Perez Scholarship, designed to aid high school seniors who currently attend a school in Seminole County, and who wish to further their education in the sciences. Preference will be given to applicants with a 3.5 grade-point average or better and who have done well in at least three science courses during high school. Those who knew Dr. Luis Perez realized that he was passionate about many things: his wife and family; the importance of education; his home country Cuba; his adopted country the United States; and his medical practice. All these attributes are reflected in the PSCF Foundation “Dr. Luis Perez Scholarship” award. Preference will be given to applicants with a 3.5 grade-point average or better and who have done well in at least three science courses during high school. To be eligible, applicants must submit a transcript of his/her grades through the first semester of the current school year; a list of extracurricular activities; and an essay of 300 words or less about themselves and their goals for college. One scholarship per year of $1,000 will be awarded on the basis of merit and need.

The 2024 Dr. Willie Newman Scholarship of $1,000 which will be awarded to a Seminole County high school senior who:

Has expressed a desire and commitment to pursue a career as a physician

Has shown academic excellence by being in the top 25% of their graduating class

Has consistently displayed character traits considered favorable in the pursuit of the healing arts, including maturity, good judgment, trust, honesty, respect (both for self and by others), positive peer interaction, leadership and community commitment (participation in clubs, church, community groups etc.).

Academic excellence is the primary criterion considered by the Coolidge Scholarship. Secondary criteria include an interest in public policy and an appreciation of the values President Coolidge championed. Successful candidates will also demonstrate humility and have a record of genuine service to their communities.

Eligibility: Awards are for U.S. Citizens who are Florida residents with a minimum GPA of 3.6 or higher. 

Applicants should present their application packets to the Chapter Scholarship Chairman by April 15th. Winners will be notified by July 1st.

AWARDS: Postsecondary awards are available in the amount of $2500. One award will be reserved for a DAR member who is continuing education and whose primary chapter is a Florida chapter. A second award will be reserved for an accepted applicant to an accredited trade school or training academy. If either of these reserved awards are not granted, the funds will be used for a general scholarship.

The City of Altamonte Springs collaborated with generous partners to award scholarships to aspiring science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) SCPS scholars in our community. The AS2I Scholarship allows students to explore and develop careers in STEM fields. This year, the program will give up to $10,000 in scholarship funds to students who exemplify a passion for innovating a better world for future generations.

We'll help take the stress out of paying for college so that you can focus on the things that matter most. Named after Addition Financial's former President and CEO, the Joseph A. Melbourne Jr. Annual Scholarship Program awards college scholarships to six high school seniors, worth a total of $10,000 each ($2,500 per year over four years). 

The 2025 application submission window is open until February 28, 2025. Winners will be selected and notified by April 30, 2025.

Requirements for high school applicants:

High school applicants must be graduating high school in the spring or summer of 2025. Applicants must be accepted into or enrolled into a four-year, accredited bachelor's degree program at a college, trade school or university that is located in the state of Florida. (Minimum 12-credit hour semester or full-time equivalent). This scholarship is designed to be distributed over a four-year timeframe.

GPA requirements:

Applicant must have a current cumulative grade point average (GPA) of a 3.0 or higher.

This scholarship is in honor of former student, athlete, coach, and teacher of Seminole County Public Schools, Tyler Lampe, who lost his battle to Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in October of 2021. The Tyler Lampe Legacy Student-Athlete Scholarship is established to celebrate the vibrant life and enduring legacy of Tyler Lampe, a passionate advocate for athletics and the invaluable life lessons it imparts. This scholarship is dedicated to recognizing and supporting graduating seniors from Seminole County Public Schools who embody Lampe's spirit, showcasing excellence in both academics and athletics.

Lampe knew the meaning of hard work and recognized the rewards of commitment. He valued the relationships he had with his coaches, players, and teammates. Lampe believed athletics was foundational in forming leaders and developing character. The intent of this scholarship is to recognize two outstanding student athletes with $500 each, while also honoring the legacy of Coach Lampe.

We would like to announce that we have $10,000 in scholarship funds to be awarded this year. The Mark Wandall Foundation is proud to offer scholarships to graduating seniors and/or young adults (age 25 or younger) who are residents of the State of Florida seeking post-secondary education and who have suffered the death of a parent, sibling, or guardian. The distribution of funds will be determined after all scholarship applications have been received.
