On Tuesday, Saint Leo University announced our new Dare to Roar Scholarship Program. Saint Leo University is devoted to helping all those who dream of greater things, gain the competence and courage to be more. And now we’re taking big, bold steps to make it practical for students to receive a quality, private university education. This includes our decision to freeze tuition for the 2021-2022 school year at $23,990 and increase our scholarship offerings.
Here’s an overview of some of our newly imagined scholarships and programs.
· Tuition Advantage Program - For Florida students with a 3.5 GPA, our newest program will cover full tuition if their family income is less than $50,000 a year (Adjusted Gross Income on 2019 tax return). Students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and be determined to be Florida Residents by Saint Leo’s Student Financial Services Office to qualify.
· Dare to Roar Associate Degree Program - For less than $10,000 a year, earning an associate degree from one of the largest, private Catholic universities in the United States is now affordable. For many Florida and out-of-state students, it's possible to attain a private education from Saint Leo University at no out-of-pocket cost. High school students with a GPA of 2.00 - 2.39 will qualify.
· Catholic Promise Award - The stackable scholarship awards $3,000 per year for students working toward a bachelor’s degree. To be eligible, high school seniors must be U.S. citizens, graduate from a Catholic high school within the United States, and attend University Campus.
· Global Citizen Award - The award provides a stackable award of $3,000 per year for international students working towards a bachelor's degree. This award can be combined with academic scholarships, totaling up to a maximum of $17,000 per year. Limited Global Citizen Awards are available and are considered based on their application to Saint Leo.
· Merit Scholarship Program - Students are automatically considered for our newly designed merit scholarship program once they apply to Saint Leo University. No separate application is required! Freshman students with a GPA of 2.3 and above qualify for merit scholarships between $10,000 – $14,000 per year.
· Microscholarship Program –Students can earn up to $1,000 in additional funding for their first year at University Campus. Students can earn up to four individual $250 awards by attending Open House, Admitted Students Day, filing FAFSA prior to January 15, and completing placement testing by June 15.
