Scholarship Description:

EXTENDED DEADLINE- MAY 14, 2021

This Scholarship is dedicated to Cecil A. Tucker, II. Cecil was a Christian, agricultural researcher, rancher, historian, author, businessman and philanthropist of both time and resources. He was a 7th generation Floridian born in Rockledge, FL on May 26, 1931. He grew up in Christmas in rural eastern Orange County. He attended the University of Florida from 1950-1954 receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Husbandry, with minors in Soil Science and Agronomy, and a Master of Science in Animal Husbandry and Nutrition. Cecil had a long, successful career in agriculture having served as a Seminole County Agricultural agent, where he developed educational programs for farmers as well as youth, with his 4-H youth programs producing multiple state champions. Cecil was a leader in the agriculture community, having served as President of Seminole County Farm Bureau for a number of years. Cecil won several awards at the state level throughout his careers, but perhaps his favorite awards, due to a lifetime of service to both, were being made an Honorary Director of the Florida Cattlemen’s Association in 2009 and being inducted into the Florida’s 4-H Hall of Fame in 2017. Cecil’s positive attitude, kind smile, charitable inclination and depth of knowledge will be sorely missed by all fortunate enough to have known him. This scholarship strives to honor his memory by helping to support future agricultural leaders.

Applications must be received by the new EXTENDED DEADLINE OF May 14, 2021. Applicants must be high school seniors in Seminole County, Florida. Applicant must be member of Florida Farm Bureau, or have a family member who is a member of Florida Farm Bureau.

This scholarship strives to award $1,000 to four graduating High School Seniors who are interested in continuing their education to prepare for a career in some way connected to the diverse agricultural industry.
